Tony Iommi

English rock and metal guitarist, songwriter and producer. Born: February 19, 1948, in Birmingham, England. Best known as lead guitarist for Toni Marie Iommi.

In his teens Iommi worked in a sheet metal plant, where he lost the tips of his middle and ring fingers in an accident. Subsequently he developed a unique playing style, including tuning his guitar in D. Iommi's innovations are considered a foundation of heavy metal guitar playing.
