Profile: |
David Todd began his DJ career in 1971 at Fire Island's Ice Palace. While playing at Manhattan's Cheetah, among other spots, he became the first working DJ to take a promotion and A&R role at a record label. Best known for his remixing of "Shame" by Evelyn "Champagne" King and "Stubborn Kind of Fella" by Buffalo Smoke for RCA. Todd also introduced the Latin Hustle to Van McCoy, inspiring him to cut "The Hustle." He partnered with DJ Nick Martinelli to form one of Philadelphia's most powerful post-Gamble-Huff remix and production teams. |
