Thirteen/WNET is the highest-rated public TV station in the US. It offers a wealth of locally produced content focused on New York City, as well as programming supplied by the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Thirteen Productions is also a major producer of shows for PBS that are distributed to other public TV stations. Thirteen/WNET began broadcasting in 1962.
