Come on Fabio, lets have some more Creative Source. This used to be a powerhouse for the Soulful side of Drum & Bass / Liquid Funk. So many artists made early works on this label.
-
This label and a couple of others are the cream of the crop when it comes to soul music, and the platform for a lot of now well known purveyours of souful compositions. Needs a return, show the others how to do it.

a really great label that has realised a lot of great tracks.
one of my favourites being Primary Motive Electric Blue / True Voice ,two tracks i feel that where totally ahead of there time.
great artwork,nice and minimal.

Some nice artwork on the early releases and then very nice house bags for CRSE 030 and CRSE 031 onwards.
-
CRSE 23 and 24 are mispressed I believe. Test pressing of CRSE 24 has Q Project details on there and definitely sounds more like him than Fellowship and vice versa.

Edited 11 years agoThis label was setup by Fabio and has played homage to some massive releases which gained continued from LTJ Bukem and Doc Scott.
The releases are all worth owning and majority of them are funky, jazzed out atmospheric vibes, which went on to the liquid variety.
Again, another label that has stood the test of time and never disappoints.
The records themselves are always top notch recordings, crisp and fresh sounding even in todays scene, but i think there were a couple of mismatched releases - which in themselves are still good tunes, but personally didn't think they suited the label, but i do mean only a couple out of almost 60 releases!
for me, the best contributors in the earlier days were funky technicians, intense, big bud, hidden agenda and subject 13 - but when the liquid sound hit the scene, it is definitely Calibre which dominated (as he does with all his releases).
Overall, a fantastic collection of some beautiful crafted music, run by one of the original longstanding dj's on the circuit.
I have to say, if it weren't for Bukem, Peshay, Doc Scott and Fabio - my collection wouldn't be half as good as it is today - not slating other djs or producers as i do like most styles of DnB, but this specific style of DnB is what i am into and cherished since 93 upwards.
Intelligent DnB is not for everyone, but for me it represents a style of music which never gets tired or boring and in most cases is just as refreshing each time you hear it.
There are so many great labels out there, but not many which offer the consistent quality you get with Creative Source.
Other labels i would recommend are Good Looking, Looking Good, Nexus, Ascendant, 720 (before it left Good Looking), Timeless (earlier DJ cat no releases), Luckyspin, Certificate 18, Temple, Fokuz, Signature, SOULR, Arctic Music, Paradox Music, Liquid V, Moving Shadow.
But again, its your music choice.
