Mystery Land Im pretty sure it was1994 in Ibiza…on the beach Cafe Mambo watching the sunset then getting ready for Cream opening night at Amnesia with Paul Oakenfold!! Bus to amnesia from San Antonio, bus was packed with everyone going and had dance music playing getting everyone in the mood…was soooo good! Chilling out next day in Cala basa on the lilos planning the next evening!! Would do it all over again in a heartbeat! 🥰

Apparently Paul Oakenfold repeatedly used this as his opening track for years at Cream so that the punters would know he was jumping on the decks. Must have been quite the time to be going to Cream during Oakey's residency.

I ed this from Beatport, and these are not the tracks from the original Mystery Land EP. They sound nothing like the original tracks, and they have different track lengths. The music is still similiar in style (early trance, euro techno), but obviously these tracks are mislabeled.

The title track is one of those tunes you always as standing out from the pack, very different from it's contemporaries - also very difficult to categorize, and it's beatless intro made it a pain in the arse to mix from a dj point of view, but it was always worth it in the end. If you haven't heard this you're missing out on something special. The EP is quite pricey but if you're not bothered about about the full length unmixed version you can also find it on: An Introspective Of House 2nd Dimension, Disc One, Seb Fontaine - which happens to be a great mix.

While Mystery Land is without a doubt the most sorry excuse for a bootleg ever made (An edit of Jam & Spoon's Oddysse To Anyoona with a vocal loop thrown on top), this record is still a classic and always will be. For, on the flip side of these cheesy rippoff, one can find what is quite possibly one of the greatest hard techno tracks ever made. With dance music changing so fast these days, its truly amazing that Kiss The Sound still demolishes dancefloors 10 years later.

If you're into hard techno or Schranz, then this is a must have record. At first listen the cheesy vocal loop sounds like it would clear a floor instantly, but when played on a loud system the vocal loop on top of the brutal drums and tripped out noises is a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

This is a great 12". There is no information about the name of the mix for Mysterland, but i can tell you it's the best mix i've ever heard of it. It's a lot harder than the mix that was commonly used on the Essential Selection cds of the last few years, and it has a seriously thumping beat.
