Throughout his long career, Merle recorded several concept albums, always dedicated to either a special artist or a certain style or topic. This great album from 1976 is dedicated to the railroad, the songs all circle around trains from different points of view. Although Merle only wrote one of the 11 songs, he paints a great picture of the importance of the railroad, historically and for the people. Every song is started by a short narration by Merle. Highly recommended! -
A great concept album by Merle! Although he only wrote one of the songs, he delivers his feelings for the railroad and makes the songs his own. Short intro comments by Merle before each song provide additional atmosphere. This album should be in every assorted country collection!
