Midlake – The Courage Of Others

Full bodied, natural-sounding pressing, vinyl is very quiet despite being colored. The record sleeve is very thin, but that doesn't bother me much. Highly recommended.

This is the original band mix of the album, the whole thing was remixed for the commercial release. Can't say the difference is that great, it's not exactly like listening to a different album, but a nice thing to have nonetheless.

Nice box. Textured outer. Double vinyl that sounds the business. CD inc some live stuff + DVD. The booklet is well done and easy on the eye. All in all a very well put together boxset. A+

Dead flat despite the packaging looking like it’s gone through a car wash.

Are these versions different to those released on the official album - are you able to hear the difference if they are?

A great album. I had it recommended to be shortly after it came out. I bought it and it ended up be one of my favorite albums of the past decade even though this style of music isn't what I'd call my core taste for every-day listening. There's a lot cool and creative acoustic work on here and some tasteful electric guitar, lightly distorted ages mixed in. Despite what the album cover might suggest, the album tends to stay away cringey from medieval/fantasy/Dungeons & Dragons cliches.

have the same US matrix copy but mine´s not "Made in the EU" looks that the note been directly copy from the European edition. In mine's "Exclusively Distributed by Redeye Distribution in N. America"
Can any of the US copy owners confirm this?

Always a shock when I don't realize it's 45 RPM. Amazing sound. Love the limited edition boxed set.
