I have a copy I purchased brand new this year (2024) that is not numbered and also comes with a foldout map. I don't see any other CD releases of this slipcase version here that aren't numbered, so I am not sure if this was re-released.

Blown away by the entire package, presentation. Pressing is just perfect. Probably the most “fun” black metal album in my collection. Love the keyboard elements too which are blended in a sublime way. High recommendation.

There also exists a version of this without the code! To my surprise my copy didn't include the extra sheet. It also doesn't mention "+ -card" on the hype sticker. Otherwise completely identical as far as I can tell :) Unsure how many there are without card.

Edited one year agoIf you like epic symphonic atmospheric black metal with fantasy leanings - ie if you like Emperor, Summoning, Elffor, Midnight Odyssey, Vargrav, Moonlight Sorcery, etc - then this album is for you. I find it, similarly to Moonlight Sorcery, more uplifting and less dark than the many releases in this genre. l count myself lucky to have the red vinyl press and it sounds good.

Edited 2 years agoGreat packaging, great sound, an overall excellent purchase for the price of ission and that’s saying a lot these days since most “modern” music on this platform sucks. NO this absolutely does not sound like Dissection unless you’ve been listening to “The Somberain” on an old warped tape.? This sounds like “Immortal” meets “Summoning” with a bit of “Anthems to Welkin at Dusk” thrown in for good measure. Overall a good quit pressing but surely not worth some of the absurd prices I’ve seen on this site.

Just noticed that the original pressing has two differing coloured sleeves. One’s blue and the other’s got a more purple hue to it.

Edited one year agoTotally unoriginal, pretty much everything about this album has been done, and done better by others long ago. At times, the whole thing comes off as laughably pretentious and embarrassing. However, despite these massive flaws, it is still a very enjoyable listen. They managed to pull it off, despite being little more than a tribute band. Still comes highly recommended.
-
A poor quality pressing it must be said. I don't know how it compares to the others but it has the familiar whooshing sound on the run-in you can often hear on counterfeits.
