Robben Ford – Talk To Your Daughter

Compressed compared to my original Australian pressing. Very disappointing because this is one of my favourite recordings of blues-rock. The kick drums in particular, sound castrated.

Robben Ford is a legit blues artist with strong jazz/fusion roots and an impeccable pedigree. Enough said.

From 1988, here is a nice collection of blues tunes, a few written by Ford, expertly performed in his own style. His singing is good, but his guitar playing is off the hook. Among guitarists, Ford is best known for his excellent lead tone which varies over the years with different equipment, but is always well considered and stunning.

This recording is super clean with great instrument definition. Guitar tone is great. Good pressing. Three and a half stars. Recommended.

seperation is great , bass is fat , drums sound good , nice natural reverb tones. the organ and key sounds are beautiful too .

when vinnie and steve porcaro are drumming on the record - you know the drums will be badass .

brilliant musicians , a good recording , robben on top form playing his famous dumble overdrive amplifier - its like its in the room especially at the end of revelation , whats not to love.

just shows as well that these lightweight records can sound fantastic , alot of my 80s thin vinyl is some of the best sounding ...

anyway , buy it - its cheap and easy to find in good condition ... and most important sounds incredible.
