Diane Hildebrand's only album (as far as I know) contains some great folk sounds with a bit of modernism thrown in (for the time period).  Obviously the song, "Early Morning Blues and Greens" was recorded by the Monkees and is her main claim to fame.  Sort of a shame in a way as people like me who love the sounds of the then modern folk style will not be disappointed in some of the other tracks.

The song, "From Rea Who Died Last Summer" is very moving and sad yet has undertones of happiness in the midst of the feelings of loss when a loved one dies.

"There's a Coming Together" reminds me of the early American west when indians used to sit in council and decide what was best for the people.

The song, "And It Was Good" is a song of ing happy times past.  Looking back with few or no regrets on a time in life that left pleasant memories that will never fade.

Those are my favorite three songs on the record and I cannot put the album on the turntable without playing them all in succession.  The album is worth owning just for those cuts but there are a couple of others that are enjoyable as well.  It's a shame there aren't more offerings from this artist.
