One of the very few real northern soul classics that has stood the test of time.. I should know as this was one of the first 7 inch singles I ever bought back in the 70’s……😉😉

I still wonder after all these years of hoping to find one, might any "The Night" US pressing promo copies (Mowest 5025) exist before they scrapped and went with Walk On Don't Look Back (Mowest 5026). Shame it wasn't released as it would have made a far better single and may have cracked into the Billboard Hot 100 somehow.

Jump forward forward to the UK northern soul DJ Russ Winstanley and the legendary Wigan Casino and this became a Casino legend and EMI re-released it with a new cat number then then re-released the re-releaae on the more friendly Tamla Motown brand as Mowest has been folded and closed but they failed to assign a TMG number which miffed a lot of collectors! Clearly saving a budget on stampers and catalogue paperwork,

It's worth noting that this is an RCA press as opposed to an EMI one.

I have never seen this issued as a stock or promo copy on a US pressing. Does anyone know if it exists?? I have heard that Mowest Records may have slipped a few copies as a promo #5025. This would be awesome for a Four Seasons collector like myself since I prefer to collect US records due to rising postage costs.
