WE'RE A WINNER contains nine Curtis Mayfield originals, highlighted by "Nothing Can Stop Me", "Little Brown Boy", "I Loved And I Lost" and the title track. Johnny Pate's arrangements are exquisite, with the exception of the album's final track, an overwrought cover of "Up Up And Away", which ends things with a bit of a thud. This pressing sounds very good, there's depth to the low end, the vocals are mixed beautifully, and the soundstage is lush and detailed. My copy plays nice and clean, with occasional light surface noise.

Great sounding record. An OG soul gem that can be had at a reasonable price still.

An absolute must have album for anyone who loves late 60s soul.
