"Dig It", as its name indicates, is one the first musical recordings entirely built with a computer (the original GDS) - hence the first track being called "Death Of An Analogue".
Words on "Death Of An Analogue": "The song... The sound... Analogue is dead... Digital is an automat... One bit for you, one byte for me... What's it like?... It's alright".
Some reissues include a DVD with a musical & visual performance also released separately as Klaus Schulze - Linzer Stahlsinfonie (Live At Ars Electronica 1980) .

Edited 3 years agoThe bonus track Esoteric Goody is basically Klaus' digital version of Vangelis' "Beauborg". He must have been having a blast at the time with all the new sounds at his disposal. And as much as I like Klaus, those sounds have not aged well ( if only in the sense of their now over familiarity). -

I used to have a vinyl copy on Brain when this first came out and having a fade out on The Looper Isn't a Hooker, whereas my CD version has an extended coda after the rhythm section dies away. Has anyone else noticed a difference in the ending on this track?

has anybody noticed that "weird caraven" is also used as the hook line for "Telephon" on the debut album from Ideal, which was produce by Klaus Schulze on his IC label in the same year "dig it" was released?

I have recently found this edition in the music shop and I said to myself: 'Well, it would be a valuable addition to my collection!'. Luckily, I've taken close attention to the aspect and presentation of the release and I have deceptively noticed the Side B title error: instead of 'Synthasy' they misprinted 'Death of an analogue' again! What a waste! Of course, I haven't purchased this vinyl. Hasn't anyone else noticed this?
