I think people in the reviews here are being a bit dramatic.
This reissue is not amazing sounding, but it’s not the worst.
The reissue of Something To is absolutely the worst out of all these reissues.
Mastering is on the more quiet side and the pressing would benefit a lot from having a 2lp reissue, to ensure the higher frequencies don’t get lost in the mix, which creates that muddy sound.
I’d rather a quieter pressing that can be turned up to hear more dynamics than a compressed sounding record.
The like a prayer reissue has similar issues with sound. But in my opinion, is far worse. Especially compared to the original pressing.
You’re definitely not going to be getting the worst sounding record from buying this, but there is definitely room for improvement in the future reissues now that she is now back with Warner.

Someone know which one I have? It is a US Cassette with 9 45767 -4. And has the upside cover version. It seems it does not exist here on discogs, but I am kinda new when it comes to Cassette.. I have only been collecting vinyl records, until just a few days ago!

Got to agree with the reviews of this cut as much as I expected it to be snake oil - I don't think the 2016 is as bad as people say, but this pressing is noticeably clearer and hotter despite the long runtime on side two. Like all WMME discs from the mid-90s it's wafer thin, which can make it prone to warps - my copy arrived slightly dished - but the sound is worth it.

The artwork is a bit sharper and the colours a bit richer than the 2016 press but there isn't too much in it - the images are fairly grainy to begin with and the typesetting looks exactly the same. Side by side the 2016 looks slightly washed out but that's about it. If you see an original at a decent price, go for it, but the repress is perfectly serviceable.

One of Madonna's underrated album that wasn't given the love it deserved when it was released in 94'. In the USA it was only released on a double pack promo in pink. But Europe it was the given vinyl treatment.. I was finally able to purchase it and it's flawless ( the European version) From the first song Survival to the last song Take A Bow. The sound is perfect it's not low..As a huge Madonna fan I've purchasing mostly of her albums that were released in Europe.. Her first Album called the madonna album, Like A Virgin, Erotica , Bedtime, and Confessions on the Dance on the Floor (Pink Version). Hoping to add more of Madonna albums to my collection.

The bass on this pressing is INSANE! You can really hear/feel the R&B and hip-hop influences in the production better than I’ve ever heard it before. I have #3446… This is an expensive one, but at least there’s a good reason.

Sounds absolutely lovely, very warm and balanced. Even the songs I don’t care for I enjoyed here, the seductive RnB production is done justice here

I’ve had this since 2010 and have only spun it I think once. Second time tonight since the celebration and anniversary is happening. WOW. I haven’t heard this album in full like this in over a decade. I really forgot about this one. This is the definition of a “hidden gem” of pop girl albums. Madonna shines here. Some corny lyrics yes, but the incredible production I think makes up for any little imperfection you can find. Love her forever!
