Notes

The last Aerosmith album for eight years to feature Joe Perry for the entire recording (he left halfway through the recording of their next album, "Night in the Ruts"), it was less successful than their previous albums selling only 2 million copies ("Toys in the Attic" sold 8 million, "Rocks" sold 4 million).

After reading ‘Walk This Way’, an autobiography of Aerosmith I am amazed that the band could release this album on time and have it sound as good as it does. The band was a drugged up mess while recording this album. Steven Tyler stated that they had a hard time getting Joe Perry to leave his bedroom and get him into the studio to record his parts. Steven Tyler also stated the lyrics just would not come to him, he struggled daily trying to make it work. Listening to this album after reading the book gave me a new outlook on this recording. I am more than impressed that this rag-tag group of junkies had it in them to complete the task, and do it well.

Versión con poco brillo. Tiene fuerza, pero le falta algo más de bajos y claridad.

Just got today, and I have to say beats the reissue I have hands down. This New Zealand pressing is rich and vibrant and captures the energy that is lacking from my 2020 'ish reissue.

Another dead-nuts-cool album from the BostonBadBoys. Rocks like a sumbitch & sounds better the louder you play it. Canuck LP is well mastered & pressed on nice quiet vinyl.

I think this is a great record despite what other people have said. “Rocks” is my absolute favorite with its dark, gritty and blistering vibe. As for “Draw The Line”, it’s just a great mid tempo, straight forward rock record. The songs are well crafted and the record has a good flow from start to finish. I have an early pressing which sounds great. Contrary to popular opinion, I think “Toys In The Attic” isn’t as great of a record in comparison to “Draw The Line”.

Compared to an original press, this pressing disappoints. While it sounds fine in its own right, it just doesn’t have the life or oomph of the original. This new pressing has some better detail than the OG, but it also can sound a little harsh at times, too. The OG is fuller, richer, and more organic sounding. The new pressing is not as pleasant to listen to.

I am not sure which exact pressing I have of Draw The Line, but it has a barcode on the back cover. The success of Rocks and Toys In The Attic seemed to have been a sign that Aerosmith was faltering. The title track and Kings And Queens were big hits, but the backlash this album suffered from meant it was a tough album to listen to in its entirety.
