Holy Crap! Now THIS is a remaster! The sound is so much fuller it makes my 2008 pressing sound dull and lifeless.Pretty much blows other editions out of the water. They kept it super cleanly mastered, but worked a bit of magic with the EQ, giving the bass a bit more punch and maintaining the highs and mids. Spectacular pressing! (looks really cool too!).
someone else mentioned they think there's too much separation, giving the impression that they're not recording in the same room anymore, but listening side by side there is no difference to me in the stereo separation, just the thunder and intensity of the mixing. If anything they sound MORE locked into a room together to me. Judge for yourself, but whatever you decide, you definitely won't be sorry if you can get yourself a copy of this pressing. For me it's become my definitive copy. -
Fantastic!
Better than any version I’ve had in the past.
Any format.
Great clarity, dynamics and press quality.
Flat, clean and mean! -
For those whose ears were accustomed to the Bronze mix this will be little disconcerting. Lemmy is intelligible, Fast Eddie is now in front and separation is very clear... almost too much. While the first mix sounds like they recorded in the studio together, this one feels like they did the tracks separately. To be clear, this sounds punchy and is a remarkable quality press, but the energy of the Bronze version isn't quite as intense. Too polished maybe?

Listened to first 4 tracks. It sounds really good so far. Way better than my revolver reissues. Happy i got these.

A great first UK pressing of Bomber . The blue vinyl is a plus . As for sound , well mastered with good dynamics and raw vocals of Lemmy . -
Edited one year agoThis, Overkill and Spades have absolutely dire live gigs as the extras with Overkill being the worst. Whilst Motorhead were never Pink Floyd in of live sound I know (as I was there on many an occasion) that they were always powerful with bass high in the mix - not so on these releases, they are so weak and weedy. So if you're thinking of buying for the live gigs don't bother as apart from Lemmys banter they're crap quality overall - Cameron Webb couldn't mix a pudding.
