I don’t have any previous editions to compare this to, but I can attest to the quality of this release. Dead quiet, balanced sound. Enjoyable listen

The newly released 2025 version sounds good on its own, but compared to the 1976 reissue, it feels more muffled and lacks the sparkle and extension in the highs.

1981 Reissue with different catalogue number and without price code. Maybe promo?

That's really funny, because there's nothing City Pop about this. If you want the US equivalent to this - Try Lovin' Spoonful.
overall its really nice, to see what both Taeko and Tatsuro were doing before their City Pop phases.

Please can someone reissue at a decent price, it’s a great album but £120+ for it is a lot of money and causes many people to not buy and therefore not experience this great music

A definitive city pop album, although one would never suspect that from only viewing the cover.
Sugar Babe manages to pour on the sugary strings, wah, cowbell, clav, piano, and more to give the listener the feeling like they are dancing and twirling around with their arms held up in the air while rays of warm sun glean down to illuminate the body. Like sugar, this is certainly addictive music. A copy of this album should be given to patients first before being istered an anti-depressant.
Even if you are not familiar with the language, this album will flood all areas of your brain with serotonin, and yet it somehow avoids being tiring or redundant. I'd love a copy on vinyl, but even the recent reissues on lp are priced out of my range, not to mention out of print.....so how about a stateside issue, please?
