A double album with historical background - Bob's final recordings (at least where he was present in the studio). A two-day session, with Bob present only on day one, in a wheelchair. The night before day two, he suffered another stroke that left him on total bedrest for his final days, until his ing in 1975. Good cross selection from the Wills songbook, played by the musicians who often also did the original versions. Special guest: Merle Haggard. That's the end of an era. Highly recommended! -
Sounds wonderful even after all these years. So much history on this album its a shame it's not more known. Pressing is fabulous and is the highest quality Bob and the Playboys ever made, imo. Bob Wills is still the king!
