Sadly one of the worst pressings I have bought in a long time. Scratched on side B and full of pops and crackles even after a thorough cleaning. I only have a SpinCare cleaner so perhaps one of those fancy sonic cleaners would help. Sad since the music is awesome and I love this album. Even more sad is I did not listen to it before the return window closed with everyone's favourite (not) online seller. #%#&#(# !!!!

There's a 3-track CD version on MusicBrainz (https://musicbrainz.org/release/82999f50-b427-4b7a-8dca-947acb143b22) but I can't find any information anywhere. Anyone here have any idea?
There's discid, so at least a bootleg or CD-R version with this tracklist should exist, although it would be strange for a bootleg CD to merge the tracks instead of just copy the original disc. -
Sealed & Near MINT copy with hype sticker available for 20€. More than 400 sealed vinyls also available

Does anyone know what are the inner sleeves used here? I like them a lot (more than the MoFi I guess) and I'd be happy to buy such for my other records.

interesting laid back compositions compared to lift yr. skinny fists or f#a#, pretty neat album in the gy!be lineup

Edited 5 months agoAt the risk of sounding like an audiophile brat:
-pro’s: the noise floor almost adds to the music.
-con’s: if you know the music from a cd, or digital file, the noise floor is hard to ignore. It is ever present.
The pressing is quiet, so the hiss is there even in the loud parts. I have a lot of records, not a crazy large collection, but a lot. This is one of the noisiest records I own.
Pro’s pt. 2: see the previous pro. The music is not harmed by the hiss and crackle. It is constant, so it is less noticeable than sounds going in and out. Think of it as a slightly “warmer”, or “whatever works for you” pressing. It sounds good overall and I’m happy to own it. If they ever remaster it properly, I’d buy in a second.
I’m not an audiophile, it just is so obvious when you listen to it that I am surprised people seem polarized by it. -

I bought my copy 22 years ago. Steve Albini produced this - you can hear his voice at the beginning saying 'rolling' - as in 'tape is rolling'... anyway my copy has always been clean, no noise nothing but pure GYBE! (as they were prior to this album - had to keep the press on their toes with a re-positioning of an apostrophe)... the production is my favourite, 2nd'd only by the performance, which I think is my favourite of all the GY!BE albums. Most Constellation stuff, it seems, is recorded and mixed and mastered in analog, but there is rumour of a digital step in albums pressed in Europe. It seems this one was pressed in California, so hoping this amazing sound is indeed analog all the way through. -

Amazing and underrated album by GY!BE, unfortunately the removal of some parts in the CD version, due to length issues, hurt the overall experience in a major way. I HIGHLY recommend buying this record on vinyl, don't go for the CD, unless you don't own a turntable. -
My pressing sounds great! However, the label is misaligned on Side B. Gawd damn it! Now I have to take it back to the store and get my money back. Why can't etc, etc, and QA, etc, etc, blah, blah! lol. ;) No really, I'm cool. I don't care. I would like the first press though because I when it was being played among friends. This is a good copy. It doesn't suck. Don't listen to the picky spoiled "audiophile" brats in the reviews. It doesn't suck. It's awesome. :)

i've been listening to this album for around 22 years on & off, it was the album i discovered the band with, i haven't cleaned the vinyl that much to be honest (i'm actually listening to it right now) but it sounds brilliant, someone commented on how they/re record label presses bad sounding vinyl, but i'd have to disagree with that as my copy of this album sound fantastic, but each to they're own i guess.
i cannot comment on frequencies as i'm not a sound engineer (my cousin is though) but everything sounds good to me, i actually really respect this label .
