Herbie Hancock – Feets Don't Fail Me Now

What a fantastic Herbie Hancock album doing disco, funk, jazz-infused flavor. This is absolutely not a straight up jazz album. But if you are a fan of HH, then you have come to accept this man loves to experiment and is constantly evolving. Track B3 "Knee Deep" is a gem for fans of Head Hunters. Having said that this is not a terrible album like others have mentioned. Now if you are not a fan of disco, funk then this might not be a chapter of Herbie for you but please do not trash the man's hard work. Music is purely subjective. If you dig Roy Ayers, Funkadelics, Roger & Zapp, then this album is for you. And if you are a fan of Daft Punk....This is a fun listening session, especially track A1 "You Bet Your Love". Literally, the blueprint of that Daft Punk sound was created 20 years prior to Daft Punk's first release. This is why I love music. Hearing the musical lineage and influences from artist to artist, crossing genre. Enjoy.

As others have mentioned previously, there are far better Hancock-disco releases. If it didn't have his name there in big letters, I wouldn't have ascribed this album to H², but instead to some far less talented artist, more known for their lactose-laden, adult-contemporary disco. What disturbs me the most about this release however, is the fact that the first track "You Bet Your Love" is such an obvious plagiarism of the P&P classic "Got To Get Your Love" by Clyde Alexander & Sanction, which was released the same year as this malarkey. Boooooo Herbie! Booooo.

"Trust Me" is so nasty. That is all.

i can never understand people giving negative comments to this amazing album , the production is one of the best in my collection and ive thousands, a masterpiece, one of his best albums

'You Bet Your Love' - was Larry Graham an influence to the bassist on this track? there's something Larry-esque about it.. can anyone the player?

Ignore the other reviews;the whole lp was a masterclass in disco music and 'You Bet Your Love' and 'Tell Everybody' are classics of the genre.Purists baulked at this music but we just carried on dancing.
A reissue is long overdue...

"Trust Me" is by far the most amazing work on this album.
It puts off a mood and a feeling in your gut that is impossible to describe. Warm, but sad and very to-heart.
And the vocal effects add so much to the atmosphere.

I cannot say enough good things about this track, but the problem is that I'm unable to come up with the right words. You just have to hear it for yourself.

Put it on, and just sit and listen.
You'll be amazed that you lived this long without hearing it.
