Just listened to this again after many years, and oh yeah, there's the bit that was sampled for Art of Noise "Beatbox" (not surprising) and oh year, there's the bit that was sampled by Colduct in "Stop That Crazy Thing" . Underrated Record

Would be great to have this on an Expanded/Deluxe edtion cd, perhaps with some unreleased material as bonus tracks.

This is an LP you can really fall in love with, the fact that 2 of the Art of Noise (Anne Dudley on keys and producer Trevor Horn) worked on it too, makes it way deeper because the piano riffs are sublime <3 I'd even go as far as to say they put together most of the music, but that's opening a huge can of worms in itself. Classic LP and a must have for any Old School Hip Hop DJ.

Anne Dudley piano solo on World's Famous is something else.

A HUGE 12" in NYC, along with the companion 12" singles for "Buffalo gals" & "Hobo Scratch".
This is basically the Art of Noise meets the Bronx. All of the AON players/engineers are present here, especially Producer Trevor Horn.
Truly a unique record for it's time, and an all-time classic for rap music.

This was my first purchase of a 12" record. Couldn't get enough of the Hobo Scratch beat... had never heard anything like that before.

Questions. Should this be listed as an EP and not a single?

When this record came out it blew everybody away, it didn't get too much on-air radio play back then but it was playing non-stop in our ghetto blasters. I use to breakdance and pop to Buffalo Gals all the time, most of today's top scatchers/turntablists were inspired by this album. Malcolm McLaren contributed heavily to the hip hop culture with this album. If you like old school you will love D'Ya Like Scratcin'.
