This badly needs a reissue. The A-side's been available on Form & Function for ages now, but apart from edited versions on various mixes through the years, the full-length Complex still isn't anywhere else but this 12" at time of writing, right?

Used to hear this getting played at Brunel Rooms in Swindon 31 years ago..... what a tune, what a club, what memories!

Complex. This solidifies the skills of Rupert Parkes back in the day. By far one of the top dons in the field of production. Everything he did is worthy of purchase and is leagues ahead of most. Everyone needs this in their collection

Where is the source for the 'complex' name? Every translation I've seen or asked for (from native speakers) gives me 'compound' or 'composite' for 複合

Let's all just take a moment to truly appreciate how well Photek paints his musical pictures.. Seventh Samurai is a particularly vivid one for me. Incredible work and another all-round classic release from him.

Just a wonderful release from Photek. For me, it's all about Complex. Heavy vibes, string heaven and a chilled melodic break. Lovely use of the amen loop to top it off...

Photek is and was on a completely different level from the majority of artists releasing stuff back in the day.

Decent picture cover/sleeve, simply put... great vinyl to own

One of the (many) classic tunes I first heard at the amazing club night called Speed in the Mars Club in London hosted weekly by Bukem and Fabio from 94-96. This tune is a stunner. Quite simple in many ways but the combination of that beautiful arpeggio with the multi-layered beats and thumping bassline setting the scene before the perfect amen comes in...ah, what a drop 10/10

Complex is a superb tune: atmospheric, complex and has the right amount of amen to make it fit into any set.
A real gem and imo one of his best tracks.
