I gotta say at this point (pre- 40th anniversary release) that the OG copy is the way to go over the Rhino 180g RE - the original has this killer distortion which gets lost when the dynamics were 'tamed' when Rhino touched it. If you want vaccuum-cleaner-switched-on-with-the-power-drill-ear-splitting-I-think-my-skull-just-fractured distortion, find the original! -
This seems to be the pressing I have, but mine is a promo version. None of the other promo versions listed on here have the right details. Anybody else have one of these? It's identical to everything here except for a 3"W x 1"H block of text stamped on the top/center of the front cover in gold foil, and reads "Lent for Promotional Use Only. Any Sale or Unauthorized Transfer is Prohibited and Void. Subject to Return Upon Demand by Owner. Acceptance of This Record Constitutes Agreement to the Above." -
Great sounding pressing. I had the 2004 repress but it just didn’t hit like this one does. I feel there is always more magic in the first pressings as well. I can’t believe these go for so little but I guess since there are many variations of the first pressing it brings down the price. Or is the uk&europe pressing the true original? -
My copy of this has a mis-printed A-side label and is different from the one pictured. It has the Reprise logo but no tracklist, only a small upside down 'A'. Does anyone else have a copy like this?
