Edited 5 years agoSeminal album by the north-easterners which gave the group their breakthrough in the UK, topping the album charts early in 1972 for four weeks and remaining on the chart for 56 weeks in total.
The classic "Meet Me on the Corner", one of two songs written by bassist Rod Clements, reached No. 5 as a single whilst the title track became the band's signature tune. Other concert favourites such as "Alright on the Night", Train in G Major" and "January Song" made their debut on this album too.
Simon Cowe made his debut as a writer, contributing the song "Uncle Sam".
It's a really good album and so nostalgic for people like me, the folky-progheads of the 1970s.
