From the American-International Picture "Shake, Rattle and Rock"

There are THREE distinct versions of this song, all sourced from the master.

Version 1: The original, undamaged, unedited master recording of Fats’ “Blueberry Hill,” was first pressed up on 78rpm.

Version 2: The master tape, somehow, was damaged (stretched) for a moment and it created a ‘wow’ that can be heard at apx. 1:06 in the song during the lyric phrase “..vows we made.” This is the version that appears on all 45rpms on the Red / Maroon labels and a few of the black labels as well. Different 45 pressing plants used the same master tape so it exists on several different versions of the record, including some foreign pressings.

Version 3: Somebody spotted the ‘wow’ and repaired it. They took the similar phrase from the end of the song, copied and edited it into the damaged portion of the master. However, in the original song he sings “…vows WE made..” in the early part, and “…vows YOU made..” (a lyrical mistake) in the later portion. That was the part that was up-spliced to fix the song, changing the lyric so it says “..vows YOU made..” in both spots. This is the version that is on most black label 45s, all LPs and CD versions and has become the master recording since 1957 into the digital age.

Red label version; for maroon label version, see: Blueberry Hill.
