The best version I've heard, it's slightly more lo-fi than the other versions, but I think the vocals are the strongest here, a bit too clean on later versions (and the Sylvester version). This one really emphasizes the "space disco" sound, though the lyrics don't deal with space like other space disco groups. Some might be put off by the suggestive homoerotic lyrics, but I find them to be pretty tolerable in a tongue in cheek way, pretty catchy in fact.
I believe this is the version that reached #1 in the dance charts in America in '81. The mainstream had turned their back on disco and post-disco by that point (unless your name is Michael Jackson), but the club-goers and DJs still kept it alive well into the 80s. A landmark.

I have heard 3 different versions. 2 with Sylvester and of course the original track. One of the finest disco tracks ever

This version is slightly different (and in my opinion, inferior) to the album version.
