One of the best sounding albums in my 500 plus collection mind blowing really up there with AIC Unplugged MOV press IMO! I don't understand the bad reviews at all! Really clean nice highs and thundering lows on my subwoofer! It's beautiful and compares to the DTS DVD I have sounds as good as the PCM track on it! Must have album for any Eagles fan!!!

Both vinyl are flat, no surface noise and the soundstage absolutely stunning as if the band is actually playing in front of me. HIghly recomended and an absolute gem to have in my collection.

The 25th anniversary 2 LP pressing of The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over offers a remarkable improvement in audio quality compared to my original 1994 pressing. The remastered edition brings a clarity and depth to the sound, with richer lows and more pronounced highs that make the acoustic elements and harmonies stand out. The pressing itself is much quieter, with less surface noise and better dynamic range Overall, the 25th anniversary edition feels more polished and refined, making it a worthy upgrade.

I have the German pressing and it is phenomenal. No problems with the vinyl itself and the mastering is very relaxed and very true to nature.
-
I must’ve gotten a bad copy. Rough edges on both records and audible distortion on a couple of the sides.

My copy is one of the original 2019 pressings, it has fantastic sound; no surface noise, great fidelity, and the mix is very good. The audience is hidden largely until the applause at the end of the live tracks. I have been using it to test my system, specifically enamoured with New York Minute and The Last Resort, which sound phenomenal. Great album!

You know when you’re a kid and you put all your stuffed animals on your bed so none feel left out? That’s how I feel about when I play this record. I like the Eagles and think they’re an iconic group, but this album as a whole bores me. It has sentimental value as my first vinyl in my collection, but that’s about it.

When this reissue was initially released in 2019, the Optimal pressing was distributed worldwide including US and Canada. However, in the last year (maybe more), copies I have seen in stores in Canada have the 'Made in Canada' sticker and a UMe logo rather than Universal Music Group logo on back cover. Very likely anyone that buys this in stores now in US or Canada is likely getting the Canadian pressing, which isn't represented yet in the database. The easy telltale sign is the UMe logo on the back cover instead of the Universal Music Group logo.

Edited 2 years agoGiving my copy 4 stars. This one has a made in Canada sticker on it, bought from Walmart. noticed the edges on both vinyls werent cut nicely, so it was a sharp edge and could easily grab onto my microfiber cloth and other debris.
After a dry and wet cleaning, here are the issues I noticed. Side A there are minor surface static/crackles, just a couple though, so not a big deal. At the very end of side B there is a couple of big pops, but it’s literally as applause is happening and fading out, so I don’t care too much about that, and it looks like record issue, not with pressing. Side C was great, I don’t think I heard any surface noise. Side D there were a few places towards the end of the first three songs where it looks like little white lines that go with the grooves and are somewhat audible. The most audible one on mine is at the end of Take it Easy. Hopefully that’s just an individual issue with mine, not a pressing issue. It’s not too big of a deal for me because they’re somewhat hidden within the music, but might be for collectors who want something perfect. I didn’t detect any skips throughout all four sides though after a couple listens, which was nice.
I wouldn’t call myself an audiophile, but I mainly look for clarity, minimal surface noise in quiet areas, and NO SKIPS, and this album ed my test. -
