Sounds oh sooooo good! No snaps, crackles, or pops. Dead silent. Base hits hard! Actually EQd my speakers down for that which brought out even more clarity and dynamics. Gatefold jacket and the dark artwork lends itself well to the matte finish. This is excellent!

Edited one year agoSolid remaster. The production style lends itself towards a harsh top-end, though it’s fairly well-controlled here on this pressing. Great artwork, and the 2LP makes for even better SQ across the two discs. Janet, Jimmy Jam & Terry remain a formidable trio in the history of popular music.

So this version is *not a gatefold jacket? Trying to compare with this one https://discogs.desbloquearpagina.com/release/13919507-Janet-Jackson-Rhythm-Nation-1814 which *is a gatefold...

Got this Feb 2022, just replayed it and it is amazing! Super quiet and clean pressing. Yes there's a lot of programmed music here, but it's full range and doesn't sound fatiguing. The bass flows and goes deeper than what I on my original CD. I do recall the CD sounded a bit brighter than this vinyl.

Did not realize how much I missed this album. This reissue trumps my 1989 cd by far. Great remastering, loud, dynamic and it all still sounds so contemporary. The rumble on Black Cat took my by surprised. Glad to be reacquainted with this work.

Killer album, and killer pressing. I've had no issues with it. It's easily one of the best-sounding records in my collection. I love playing it. It always makes me move and smile.

Am I the only one who has the labels for disc 2 flipped? Side 4 label is on 3 and vice verse. Otherwise, album sounds glorious.

Honestly, I’d steer away from this pressing. As much as there’s for sure been an increase in sound quality due to this being a 2LP, the quality of this release overall is definitely questionable. My first copy skipped like crazy on “The Knowledge”, so I thought returning it may help. My second copy has a skip in the exact same place, just less severe. So personally, I believe the quality control may be an issue with this pressing. I have heard better things about the silver variant though.
