Now 19 was released in March 1991. I got this for my 9th birthday.
1. The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go: Classic song back in the chart following Levi's.
2. Scritti Politti (featuring Shabba Ranks) - She's a Woman: Great cover of the Beatles.
3. The Source featuring Candi Staton - You Got the Love: Great house track.
4. The KLF featuring the Children of the Revolution - 3am Eternal: Great dance track.
5. C&C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat: Iconic dance track. 'Everybody dance now!'
6. Nomad featuring MC Mikee Freedom - (I Wanna Give You) Devotion: Great rap track.
7. EMF - I Believe: Great follow up to 'Unbelievable'.
8. 808 State - In Yer Face: Great dance track.
9. Massive - Unfinished Sympathy: Great song. This is in fact Massive Attack, but they had to remove the 'Attack' due to the Gulf War.
10. MC Hammer - Pray: Great rap track, based on Prince's 'When Doves Cry'.
11. Kim Appleby - G.L.A.D.: Great song.
12. Kylie Minogue - What Do I Have to Do: Great track.
13. Hale & Pace and the Stonkers - The Stonk: Great Comic Relief single.
14. 2 In a Room - Wiggle It: Great dance track.
15. Vanilla Ice - Play That Funky Music: Great rap cover.
16. Jesus Loves You - Bow Down Mister: Great track from Boy George.
17. Enigma - Sadness (Part 1): Great song. It has Christmas connections for me because it was on 'The Best Christmas...Ever!'.
18. Praise - Only You: Great vocal from Miriam Stockley (singer of the 'Peter Rabbit' theme).
Compact Disc 2
1. Oleta Adams - Get Here: Pretty song.
2. Rick Astley - Cry For Help: Great track
3. Robert Palmer - Mercy Mercy Me/I Want You: Great Marvin Gaye medley.
4. Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes - (I've Had) the Time of My Life: Great song from Dirty Dancing.
5. The Righteous Brothers - You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin': Great song back in the chart following the success of 'Unchained Melody'.
6. Seal - Crazy: Great track.
7. Banderas - This Is Your Life: Great song.
8. Stevie B - Because I Love You (The Postman Song): Pretty song.
9. Chris Rea - Auberge: Great track.
10. Chris Isaak - Blue Hotel: Great song.
11. Free - All Right Now: Great remix.
12. INXS - Disappear: Great song.
13. Belinda Carlisle - Summer Rain: Another great song from Belinda.
14. The Railway Children - Every Beat of the Heart: Great dance track.
15. Thunder - Love Walked In: Great rock song.
16. Queen - Innuendo: Epic track, great Spanish guitar.
Another great album, though once again there are some songs that missed out
The Simpsons - Do the Bartman
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
Iron Maiden - Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaugher: Their only number one single.
Status Quo - Anniversary Waltz (Part 2): As I said last time, I prefer this to part 1.
Bombalurina featuring Timmy Mallett - Seven Little Girls Sitting in the Back Seat
The Farm - All Together Now
Yazoo - Situation
Rod Stewart & Tina Turner - It Takes Two
John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John - The Grease Megamix: Appears on Now 40, but should have been on here because it was a hit in 1990/91.
Black Box - Fantasy
Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers - Let's Swing Again -
Edited 5 years agoAlthough, it is the lowest selling Volume of the UK Now Series, I must say that it is one of the most enjoyable and uplifting collection of songs, which reflect the early '90s modern culture spirit. Nice pace and balance between mainstream and alternative/indie hits! Blame it on the 'eccentric' and bizarre front cover of the compilation!
