Pressing is great. Sleeve is annoying but not the end of the world. Well worth the inexpensive price at the time of this review posting.

This pressing is the best I’ve ever heard this album sound. For the packaging, yeah it sucks. I threw all that crap in the trash and put it in a generic jacket/poly lined sleeves. It’s certainly a pressing worth rehoming.

Edited one year agoThis is a great pressing. The faux picture disc sounds amazing. Nice that it includes the 2 extra bonus tracks too. However, people weren't kidding about the sleeve being too tight.

This vinyl was good however the packaging was lacking. The vinyl was so shoved into the packaging I had to pull kind of hard to get it out. So I just cut a slit in the top of the plastic so it was easier to come out and it didn’t damage the vinyl. The records played great tho.

Very cool faux picture disc that delivers on looks And sound. The artwork looks great and has some depth because of the way it is made. And, unlike normal picture discs, this one sounds like a standard LP. It really does sound great. It is very well mastered and cleanly pressed with no background noise. The PVC sleeve is too tight and makes it a struggle to get the records in and out, but it does its job for the most part. All in all this is a terrific album presented in a very unique way and I definitely recommend it.

Edited 4 years agoBit the bullet and picked up a copy. A local record shop had it on sale for 24$ CAN, so I couldn't that up. I agree with most of the comments here - the mastering and press is fantastic. The faux-picture disc looks really nice. However, the PVC sleeve is AWFUL. It's such a shame - this reissue would be perfect if the packaging wasn't such trash. Instead of a faux-picture disc, I'd prefer to have the proper cover and insert, and while unnecessarily, 2xLP cut at 45RPM.
I compared it to the sony 2008 legacy reissue, and these are the differences. The drums and guitars sound much better on the 40th RSD - drums are punchier, and the guitars crunchier. However, the 08 reissue is much louder, has slightly better instrument separation and a slighter wider soundstage. They are both awesome and different enough that I"m keeping both. The RSD is probably more truer to the OG, while the 08 legacy is more hifi.
