Edited 4 years agoSandwiched between Chicane's first & second albums 'Chilled' is a footnote to the House giants' vast back catalogue. Released as a short burst of late Summer bliss, this EP come Compilation is widely regarded as one of the artist's best pieces, and upon listening it's not hard to see why. Featuring different takes from his popular 90's track record 'Chilled' manages to remain fresh even to this day, encoming sturdy reworkings of singles taken from his debut as well as a rare outing from non-album piece 'Strong In Love'. Many of the remixes are by Nick Bracegirdle's previous outing as Disco Citizens with other offerings by non other than DJ Quicksilver & A Man Called Adam who both provide very different styles to the collection, Quicksilver with his fast paced Euro House vibe being a stark contrast to Man Called Adam's smooth Acid-Jazz re-telling makes sure that many of the halcyon 90's dance genres are covered.
Although all of these tracks are available on their prospective singles for some this would be the first time they appeared on CD making it not only a money saver but also a means to spur you onto finding more of Bracegirdle's work, weather it be his studio pieces or the many remixes he'd done over the years.
If you're new to Chicane's work it might be best to not start here as the non linear approach to the content mixed with the ever changing musical styles may have you confused as to what his work actually sounds like, but if you're after some more of the artist's earlier content then this is a perfect little appetiser. -

This EP from Chicane is a Master Piece - And will be ed as a true classic. Featuring some of the best tunes the artiste is known for, remixed by top producers (notably Quicksilver) Getting quite hard to get hold of. Do yourself a favour if you come across it - GET IT..! It will make anyones top 20, it makes it into my top 10..!
