Sounds like I got the one defective lp. Warped with surface noise out of right speaker for the first several tracks. Arghhh unfortunately really distracting on this type of music. -
I’ve been wanting this album on vinyl since I first started collecting over two years ago. I finally saw it in a local store and quickly swiped it up. I was leery when I saw “clear vinyl” as I have other albums in random colors that don’t sound good at all. As the other reviews say, this pressing is absolutely incredible!!! It’s perfectly flat and dead quite all while being beautiful in it’s clear form. So happy right now.

Holy smokes this pressing is incredible, like audiophile good, like mofi good. I’m absolutely floored, have loved this album in the digital version for a long time, this was an impulse buy and a great one at that -

Edited 3 years agoGot it this week & here's the verdict.
Had the 2014 one (Throwaway Pressing [TP] we shall call it) that I picked up at some used book store... This was my point of reference. "2014 TP" was one of the first records I ever bought. Didn't even have a TT. 2014 was the first record I ever played. Blown away by the vinyl experience. Saught gear upgrades from my $5 crosley from a yard sale. But I'm an audio engineer & started A/Bing the "2014 TP" vinyl with digital. For the vinyl, I ended up adding around a 12dB shelf just get closer to mids & highs of the digital. Still sounded just awful. Oh – all this, after putting about $1100 into vinyl gear, vacuum cleaning, now all to no avail. I said bye-bye "2014 TP" pressing. Some collector can have it. Sold.
So around the same time, this clear variant appears from the Horizon (Tycho pun unintended). Looks like it's a ridiculous amount now – but y'all – it might just be worth it. This pressing is more fun to listen to than even the digital that I've listened to for years. Will I ever underestimate vinyl again? Will I ever underestimate seeking a HQ pressing?
I am Awake, now. Thinking I'll secretly just bury this pressing with me. (Sorry future offspring)
