Great record and great band. They dropped just when Yes was on hiatus before Going For The One. And no, there's no similarities to The Bay City Rollers in any of their five excellent records. Did they cop a little from Yes? Absolutely. But their songs are entirely original. You could say that they borrow from Yes because they do, but what's wrong with that? Every band owes another band who owes another band etc.

This sounds like The bay city rollers combined with YES to make the worst possible music of the 70's. Terrible, I would give it -5 stars if I could.

Edited 3 years agoAlways branded the "American YES".. A band that should have been much more successful but nonetheless excellent in every aspect.I saw Starcastle in the mid 70's at Madison Square Garden in NYC when I was in my mid-teens and they were absolutely awesome. They are still around in such, and this debut album is phenomenal IMHO.I'm on my 4th or 5th vinyl copy and I'm still looking for a sealed Pittman or Terre Haute pressing.
