Reviews
-
Beautiful cover art and vinyl, but lots of surface noise and even some recurring clicks here and there. Disappointed by the amount of noise.
-
My copy is flat, silent, and sounds tremendous. This score is one of my favorite from Carpenter so it’s great to see waxwork hit it out of the park here.

I did not run into the problems of the previous commenters. Sure, there's an occasional pop - welcome to vinyl - but nothing overwhelming or too distracting. It could have been better but there is beauty in imperfection.
On a side note: I was lucky enough to get my copy autographed by Adrienne Barbeau at ComiCon last week. She loved it! -
I bought this to replace my DW "Blake's Gold" pressing because that version sounds bad and the cover art is awful. So, first the good; I like the cover art and design on this one much better and the actual vinyl itself looks very cool in person. The booklet is also nice considering the prices WW charges these days, so i always appreciate extras. Now the bad; the sound is pretty unimpressive. There are pops right off the bat during the ghost story and the pressing overall is noisy. And by noisy I mean there is light surface noise throughout, which is really apparent on the more spooky and ambient tracks - the surface noise bleeds through breaking the mood. Aside from that the quality is rather flat and lackluster, same as the DW pressing. I have to wonder at this point if this is a pressing issue or if the original recording is like this due top the tech used? Now I want to compare with a VS pressing. In any case, this pressing is OK but still leaves a lot to be desired IMO, sound quality-wise. It's a major pet peeve of mine when you have music that is supposed to be dead quiet and there's surface noise. Some would call this "charming" but considering the prices we pay for these things, I expect better.
