Edited one year agoReek of Putrefaction needs no introduction. This was absolutely insane music for 1988 and it is still insane now. The album only had one mission; to be as disgusting, vile, dirty, and heavy as possible. I think they 100% accomplished it. This is an album you can throw on anytime and just the time getting gored out. A lot of songs on here are not very memorable, and they can tend to blend together. However there are also plenty catchy stand outs! Do I even need to say that this is essential for any grind collection? I think many bands and albums took this sound and perfected it later on, but it started here, and this is the most important of them all! This CD reissue is the best way to own this album as far as I am concerned. Original artwork and lyrics included is all I need. If you can find it, do not hesitate. It’s very hard to find copies with the uncensored artwork nowadays.
