Dream Widow – Dream Widow

The tunes on this thing kick ass but I can't say I love the mastering on this physical release, sounds very compressed to me and took a good deal of EQ twiddling to bring out any punchiness. My copy is also oddly cloudy-looking like the last commenter's, as if they tried to do some sort of black-in-black effect that didn't quite work.

A spectacular album with a vinyl release that was handled perfectly! It's definitely worth picking up if you happen to see it around MSRP, but don't buy at flipper pricing.

My copy sounds killer! I did not expect this to sound so good. Definitely the best way to listen to this album.

I mean it’s awesome it was released on physical media especially vinyl but my experience has not been as good as others. the surface of my vinyl has marks out the ass and looks like it was thrown in the pile before it could cool (like many records nowadays) the surface noise is tolerable but i definitely have heard quieter. i would pick this up if you like Foo Fighters or if you want to give a more tame metal album a try. definitely enjoy it but the quality is hit or miss. overall can’t complain too hard.

I did not have high expectations for this one on vinyl, and my mind was blown. Vinyl is dead quiet, production/mastering is well-balanced and super clean. Chugging guitars are toasty with hints of smokey charcoal, drums are tight and resonant, vocals would put your neighbor’s bedroom screamo Fear Factory sing-a-longs in the 90’s to shame. Love it.

I had no idea this was getting released until very late in the day yesterday and by that point it looks like the thing was sold out worldwide. But I think I may have just secured a copy at retail price thankfully... Complete bummer to see assholes flipping this at exorbitant prices already though. People really are dicks.
