It's nice to finally have those great and sought after gabber classics on vinyl but also a missed opportunity to do a nice reissue with a better tracklisting and nice artwork.

How a quality reissue could have looked like:
        - 2xLP with gatefold sleeve with plenty of pictures of 3 Steps Ahead live gigs on the inside.
        - A biography and some background on the back cover.
        - A big 3 Steps Ahead logo on the front cover.
        - Peter-Paul Pigmans is not credited on this release. His name should appear somewhere.
        - 2 tracks per side
        - 180 gr vinyl
        - Different tracklisting: ditch the Negative A Refix of "In The Name Of Love" and the "Hakkûh (Loud Play Mix)" and add some more interesting tracks like "Hardcore", "It's Delicious" or "So Much Trouble".

I give 5 stars for the music but a reissue that showed some respect for 3 Steps Ahead would have been much appreciated.

EDIT July 2024: What I requested above is exactly what has been released now. 1000 copies of a 4xLP tribute box were put for sale on the 3 Steps Ahead Tribute store on 22 July 2024 but it sold out on 25 July around 16h GMT. https://3sa.store/collections/frontpage/products/3-steps-ahead-tribute-vinyl-box

Oye Records still hast copies for 25 € if anyone cares. Don't feed the sharks!

Anyway, amazing release. Fantastic news that people finally came around to repress golden age gabber. Was waiting for this for years!

Sounds super clean. Just put the gain up a bit and it still sounds much superior to the original pressings. Would've loved if they'd had included "Hardcore" instead of one of the remixes but let's just pray for more releases in the series.

Many thanks to the Be Yourself crew! Please keep it up!

for a late adapter fan who does not want to spend 1000€ on a few vinyls, this is a masterpiece! discovering some tracks from him that i otherwise would never play! This man was spot on, i discover pure hardcore tracks which are better than his paint it black and drop it! thanks for that BYM.

Cheap a** looking tribute to the great producer 3SA was imo.
How generic can you design this album without any slight reference to his style, could be any "best of trance" album or something really. i'm not even a fan of all his work but this release breathes lameness and quick cashing for me.
Besides that, pushing 8 tracks on one record is also crappy, but yeah €€€

Great tracks, but this is a record for home listening only. I can use streaming service for this
It seems that everyone has forgotten about the DJ friendly format.
If it was 2x12" all buyers would be happy.
                UPD:
A month has ed and we see that the release is already selling for over 40 Euros.
This is a great starting price for 2x12"

Very cool record! Nice to see they keep his legacy alive!!
3 Steps Ahead was in my opinion one the best hardcore-artists of his time. His tracks have nice basslines, good kickdrums and strong melodies.

B1 and B2 should have been replaced with better tracks like: Delicious / Hardcore / Love to get stoned / or his remix for Buzz Fuzz Yealousy is a MF / or his remix for Private Productions - Looped.

Anyway I still think its a good release because B1 and B2 are not bad tracks!

I really hope that one day Part 2 of 3SA will be released with more tracks from his 'JUNKIE' period which contains a lot of other musical gems.

                  :)

Yes, like previously unreleased on vinyl tracks such as Gabbertime and the original Strictly Business..
@ ravedave, as for the track lengths on this release, yes they're full length tracks, sounds great indeed:)

vinyl sounds excellent. just wish b1 and b2 were replaced with other 3 steps ahead tracks but i guess we will have wait till volume 2 once this project has proven to be successful.

all tracks are original mixes for those who wonder
