I'm still listening to this mix 15 years later. This is one of the first Shackleton releases I discovered at the time, and I've never found or heard something similar since then. As oboema said here in the previous comments in 2022, it also took me years to fully appreciate it. I now consider it a masterpiece mix <3

this one is dope! a pearl of the fabric output. this is not conventional dubstep and it sounds like no other album i know. imagine robert henke goes back to the 80s and record toegether with early 23 skidoo...or a jungle tribe with a laptop with ableton live. tribal percussion, processed voices and electronica melts toegether to a hypnotic trip perfect for a car ride at night or listening on good headphones, with some psychoactives, if you like. not so much for dancing, but some people might feel different about that. great stuff!

Extraordinary night music. Call it whatever you like just not dupstep pleeeaaassseeee. Creepy gripping and unexpected beats and cellos synths treated voices and Tom Tom's all converging to take you on a deep dark ride through the night to a party unlike any other. Highly recommended.

An unrivaled achievement in sonic art. A deep, groovy and mystical journey.

Defies all explanation. Meant for focused listening. Deep, aware, intellectual bass music. Tribal and primitive - but authentically so, not simply copping tribal tropes. An utterly unique album.

Genre-defying. Shackleton isn't dubstep, and he's not techno either. He's dark, tribal, percussive beats that can't be categorized. As danceable as it is philosophical, this is one of the Fabric mixes you don't want to miss.

This is hands down the best dubstep mix CD there is. Shackleton's brilliant compilation of Skull Disco and unreleased material shows what dubstep really is: dark, moody and melodic.

How about that percussion in the first track? I knew this was a going to be a ripper in the first minute, unbelievably good..
