Edited 15 days agoIt's not just an early fade on the the US press - it's an edit. There is a 15 second vocal-vocoder insert on the US record at about 0:40, just after the bass comes in - doesn't happen on the Italian press. There are also further bits that do exist on Italian mix and don't on the US, e.g. second vocal verse and chorus starting 1:55 on Italian press and lasting 24 seconds. I don't have the patience to go all the way through segment by segment but suffice to say there are material differences.

Additinal info: Side A vocal version is the 8:13 one, found only in early pressings of the U.S. 12". Side B (instrumental) times at 8:18.
At 33 RPM, the grooves cover the major part of the vinyl surface, so it has a loud (in a good way) dynamic sound. This was a blind-buy, since there wasn't any additional info at Discogs, but I'm glad I bought it! Recommended - especially for the hard-to-find longer vocal version.
