This is very confusing: My copy’s runout matrices are EXACTLY the same as the 2011 RTI test pressing but with the regular Columbia/Legacy labels. 🤷🏻♂️
Anyway, this compilation, in one form or another, is an essential part of every vinyl record collection, imo. -
Great reissue! No sibilance no distortion and very good dynamics. Really surprised at all of the bad reviews. Maybe some people got a bad press or stylus needs changed because of all of the sibilance talk but thankfully mine has none -
Just picked up a copy at Walmart for $15 that looked like it had been sitting there for years. After an ultrasonic clean it sounds amazing, and I am extremely picky about sibilance/inner groove distortion. To anybody complaining, get a microline stylus and give this record another chance. -

So true and very obvious!! Voice is very high pitched and almost disordered. Very disappointing. -
This pressing sounds like garbage. How would anyone ever think this was worthy of release? -
I agree with a previous post about the vocal sibilance on most tracks. I wouldn't say this is a horrible pressing, but I expected a warmer more musical sound. I will return this one and try the Music On Vinyl remaster which seems to have much better reviews.

This record sounds horrible! The packaging was good and at least the paper sleeves are lined, but that record is horrible. The vocals has sibilance, ON EVERY SINGLE TRACK. The drums also do not sound right. My friend has this on digital, and it sounds 10x better than LP. If you are going to buy this, get it on digital or buy the original LP, but this remaster is horrible. Not recommended. -
Just bought this record as well, I don't have the best record player but its okay. I am not disappointed with this record, not a huge Journey fan but I think it sounds quite alright, if I had any complaints it has a bit too much bass. I'm not saying its the best record in my collection, but I think that is more taste than sound. Not wholey defending the record, just not saying it is bad- by any means.

Just got this and have to agree with the other posters. I don't think this was mastered from the original recordings. More of a sterile, shrill sound over the same songs on original journey records.
