Edited 2 years agoPlease Please Please for the love of god, stop posting reviews of records when you have crap carts or turntables. This record sounds amazing and there are no zero the empty set skips on Old Man or any other track. I’m not an elitist and have been in your shoes. I had an orbit turntable and grado blue and shit skipped on almost every record I bought. Guess what, I didn’t write negative reviews of the vinyl cause I knew my rig was suspect. Since upgrading to a Rega Planar3 I have experienced no skips on any record. None.

Edited 4 years agoIf you are a Neil Young fan or beginning to explore his music buy this album. Mine is of stellar quality production wise and has stunning sonics with tubes and Altec 19’s. It’s one of those close your eyes and you are almost there in person albums. Neil is a delightful host, impish at times and clearly as pleased to be at the venue as the audience is.

This is my favorite Neil Young! Him and a Piano and his best writing.
Pressing is flat and quiet and it feels like you are there -
I've had my copy for several years now (purchased roughly early 2017/late 2016) and it sounds incredible. Flat, dead silent and sounds so wonderful. 5/5 stars easily.

Edited 3 years agoI bought my copy shortly after it was released and it plays through fine on both sides without any skipping or jumping that is noted below.
Edit November 2021:
Alright so maybe since my setup has become (slightly) better than what I had when I originally posted this, I'm hearing the bad things that have been mentioned by others. It's not totally unlistenable but I will be looking for another copy. Weird static for about 8 seconds during the A1 and then moments of distortion enough to be annoying during the rest of the side. I'm going to guess side B will be similar before I even put it on. Interesting how much I disagree what I originally said between two different tables (U-Turn w/ acrylic platter and Grado Black VS Technics 1200 II w/ Grado Blue. -

I am looking for the matrix numbers on the first pressing. I suspect there is now a second pressing, my copy has RE-1 in deadwax. No skipping on Old Man which was also a well documented issue.

Does anyone else's vinyl jump on "old man" A6"? Can't see any marks so wonder if there's a pressing problem?
