THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE DIDIGITIZED
And rightly so. How refreshing and cool is it that people still make music like this? In a world awash with music made from variations of streams of zeros and ones, it’s pleasing to know that there are still some that still do it the hard way, the cool way and, perhaps, the talented way.

While its probably difficult enough just trying to stay ahead in the music game today; always trying to create or find that new elusive sound or contort an existing formula so much that you are heralded as a new genre busting superstar, when in actual fact, all you really need to do is get a few talented like minded people together and churn out something similar to this.

While this EP is undeniably upbeat and decidedly funky, for me, it’s the honest and underplayed vocals that make this 5 tracker so appealing. Stand Up and Take My Time appear to be variations of the same theme but each, such is the magnitude of each vocalists performance, contain their own unique and distinct characteristics, which serves to polarise each to excellent effect.

This is my first foray into the world of Breakestra and as someone who prides himself on being a slightly more discerning appreciator of music, I feel genuinely embarrassed that I haven't picked up some of their releases sooner. But there again, that’s probably why we love music so much, as stumbling across new artists for the first time is almost, though not quite, as enjoyable as appreciating the excellent music they make.
