If anyone ever challenges me to recommend a track on Hydraulix then 9A is always at the top of my list
I have no idea what Henry does to that sample, but I swear the way he evolves it, it ends sounding like "Drugs, now talkabout"

A rare instance when the B-side outshines the A-side. This was my go to track for a while and wrecked dancefloors.

What a pounder this is. Kicking off with a vocal from Gil Scott-Heron's "Kind Alfred Plan", things quickly move up to a funk fueled techno monster with masterful samplage, kicking beats and a rocking, corking 'n' jamming bass line that just obliterates the dance floor. Naturally, I am speaking about the A side here. One of the label's stand outs. Heard it on a mix CD by DJ Rok, I think, and went on a hunt. You will have to pay up quite a bit for a usable copy of this record, but it's well worth the effort. One of Henry Cullen's more memorable purist techno efforts.

If you have done your crate digging homework, then you know that this track is also available on this split release with The Geezer, where you also have a classic by the equally filthy Guy McAffer. Hint hint. Anyways, the A side of HYDR 009 is one for ages. No stone left unturned when this one hits. Get it.

Corkin' techno record in typical Dave The Drummer style that rips along with a funky guitar driven loop and a repeated effected vocal challenging the dance floor to "Get Down and Funk It". It is a prime time peak hour track that can just devestate a dance floor. Blistering thunderous four to the floor techno at its best!
