Notes
Head East released their first album "Flat As A Pancake" on their own Pyramid Records label.
It was recorded in 1974 at Golden Voice Recording Studios in South Pekin, Illinois and was released in early 1975. The band sold all 5,000 LPs and 500 8-tracks made on the Pyramid Records label and no further copies were issued on their label after g with A&M Records later that year.
A&M re-issued the album with new front and back cover art and reversed the sides of the album (songs from side 1 of the Pyramid version are on side 2 of the A&M version and songs from side 2 of the Pyramid version are on side 1 on the A&M version).
Sleeve and label are textured.
Track B1 listed as "There's Never Been Any Reason" on label, "Never Been Any Reason" on back cover.

If anyone has a copy of this Lp (or the rare 8-track) for sale, please let me know. I'm hoping to have a copy to take with me to get signed at a Head East show in August.

The album's title is fittingly based on Head East's hometown of Central Illinois, which is the second flattest state in the US, slightly behind Florida. On the original cover artwork, the "butter blot" in the middle is modeled after the Assembly Hall (now known as State Farm Center) in the state's Urbana-Champaign university.
