Edited 2 years agodid bono re-do the vocals on this album? I'm 90% sure the boy/girl version here is the same from the 'I Will Follow' 7" but the vocals are different. Also you can kinda tell bono's older in certain parts like a day without me
Does anyone else hear this? I'm not complaining I just want to make sure I'm not going insane

Luckily, I stumbled across this in the wild at one of my local stores. Was really surprised to see it. And at a "don't think twice" price of $20.

Edited 3 years agoSimply stunning live recording! I had this sealed for years and finally decided to give it a spin and wow, wish all live recordings sounded this good! Two words: must have.
-
It's a surprisingly good live recording of a band that wasn't really known yet. The musicianship isn't technically great, but the feel is definitely the U2 of the first two albums. A fun peek into their origins, and Bono is already something special. Found a sealed copy for 20 $CAD, and I'm pleased with the purchase. If this record had been available as an import in 1985, I'm sure I would have paid much more for it. :)

I was originally planning on leaving this sealed and keeping it as a collection piece but my curiosity got the better of me.
So glad I opened it.
I do not normally go in for live recordings but this record sounds amazing. Great pressing.
Listening to the beginnings of U2 live is a special experience. The music is fantastic. This was a young U2 that became as big as they got because they started like this and everyone wanted to see them.
Nice interview with Bono as a bonus. -
Why they left off "Twilight" is a shame.....they had a whole side they could have used for the whole gig? Strange decision.

This is an absolutely release. I was so happy when I put it on my record player. Highly recommended!

Got it at an second hand shop in Denmark for roon 10dkr ~ £1, aboot 2 years ago. No price on it, so I asked the guy, and he said 10dkr !
He just seemed to know fek all aboot this, so I just grabbed it, and left quite fast. Hehe
It's just been stored with ma other LP's. Records looks like they'd never been oot of the sleves. -
How come this vault is so cheap to get, but the new one with the Joshua Tree singles is so expensive?
