Not as good as their previous album

Vektor return, with a follow up to their much acclaimed Outer Isolation. This time, however, there's a ton of good riffs, that leave no room for vocals to fit in well. Sadly, great riffs bunched up together with a few uncommon time signatures do not make a great album. It's good, but not great.

The album would be much more coherent without the vocals at all. Track 1 is an exception; bits of track 2 and track 6 leave decent room for vocals that don't take away from the song. The vocals itself sound like a slight step back from the previous album, lacking any sort of variety and sounding like he decided to yell over the music, just filling in the gaps. DiSanto is phoning it in and the lack of ion shown earlier, is evident at times.

Long, Blackened Thrash songs work, when there's room enough for a song to breathe, to get into a certain atmosphere in parts and take one on a journey. This is consistent throughout, granted, but it's lacks the atmosphere and variety this band is capable of.

Had a few songs from here been on an EP, it'd get a higher rating. An album should feel like a journey and not an ordeal, where one feels things blend in too much.

Robot-chipmunk thrash metal! Ha-ha! Their sound is like munchkin-metal with plastic production. It's fun, and funny!
