This vertigo spaceship sounds really amazing!i have also a german spaceship version...this version is certainly better by far than german issue..one of my best sounding prog vinyls of my whole archive....

Edited 3 years agoJust got a British spaceship, sounds amazing. The colors of the spaceship label also match the cover better than the swirl. (Both Roger Dean.) Better aesthetic fit and same master and a lot less expensive!

The original Vertigo sound is hard to beat. Its cut a bit hot but remains dynamic and lush.
It really brings the punch and kick to the music that is missing on for example the Wilson remix and probably other reissues. Even though some sounds may be a bit more meshed and less separated than they could be it still sounds clear and the EQ is quite natural and realistic, so I have few qualms about it.
The vinyl is also decently quiet if you find a clean copy which is recommended for this album.
I have tried the German issues as well but as usual the 320 mastering is just too muffled.
Get any of the UK 420 mastered pressings and you are set with likely the best sound that can be offered.

Where is "Published By as Alucard Music" on the cover? I don't see that anywhere on my copy. Mine has the spaceship labels with the "Excellency Music" text, but no Alucard anywhere. Just curious as I'm trying to pin-point what version I have. I bought it new in 1972 or 73 as a UK import.

These guys must have been incredible live, because otherwise I have never got the fascination with them.
I found this version clean for a buck, and love the cover art, and it's a cool listen, but great?
