Just received a copy of this with PRL1-277830 on the spine. Everything else relates to this release, but there's no mention of PRL1-277830. Can anyone shed any light on this? What is on the spine of other owner's copies?

I finally got this in the mail today after eyeing it for months, and I can definitely say its worth it. The vinyl is a nice solid orange color with yellow speckles and plays pretty good! I didn't expect this but the cover itself too was a soft matte kind of texture rather than glossy which is actually really nice and I find suits the album. If you can still get your hands on this from Barnes and Noble at the original price, then by all means, buy it. As far as I know its the first and only colored pressing of parachutes and limited edition so its really nice to have. Brings back fond memories :)

Sound quality is actually not bad on this pressing. It's still readily available from Barnes and Noble for cheap.

While I don't have an original pressing to compare to I do have the "From the Capitol Vaults" pressing, which I was always quite fond of despite the less than stellar reputation (maybe I just got lucky?).
Louder tracks (Shiver in particular) do sound ever so slightly distorted, but the softer songs sound absolutely gorgeous. Worth grabbing for the beautiful orange vinyl alone, but a really nice bonus that it sounds so good! -
This is probably a 120G pressing, but it's Parlophone and it sounds phenomenal! Much better than the Capitol 180G.
