Axel F ruled '85 and Det Reirruc ruled Axel F.

This reminds me of World Class Wrekin Crew... Big drums and rap sound similar... But the Latin Rascals seriously chop the edits to bits... A pretty hard track with Axel F-off twinkly synths... Like repo136 said Mike Allen seriously knew this would 'cut the mustard' and had 'more muscle than you could shake a stick at!!' RIP Mike Allen you UK hIP hOP legend!!!

A monster of a tune which utilises the editing talent of legendary NYC duo, The Latin Rascals.
The production credits mention a "Det Reirruc" which is an alias of Ted Currier (spelled backwards....) who was responsible for a heavy amount of Boogie Boys output. He also produced George Clinton's 'Atomic Dog' which was an inspiration for many 'G-Funk' era tracks of the early 1990's.

My copy of this record is from a collection of vinyl once owned by Capital Radio's 'Boss In London', DJ Mike Allen. I still to this day he loved it and once played it on air and said one of his off-the-cuff quotes, "...all the other stations are still playing that wimp, Harold (Faltermeyer)".

I have four different label variations of the Club Records release, plus a test pressing. The first label variation has no artist listed on the Axil F side, but lists the Beverly Hills Cops as the artist on the B-side. The second label variation lists Det Reirruc as the artist on the A-side, and Clubb's Rappers as the artist on the B-side. The third label variation lists the artist as "Eddie's Rascals" on both sides. On the forth label variation, the artist is also "Eddie's Rascals", but on the A-side it now says "The Beverly Hills Version" under the title "Axel F". This does not appear on the third pressing. Also different on the forth pressing is on the B-side it says "The Eddie Murphy Rap" under the title "Like Eddie Did". This also doesn't appear on the third variation. All four label variations have the same etchings in the run-out, as well as the test pressing. I guess they just couldn't make up their minds on what to list the artists name as.
