there are days when i think that dillinja is tooo much on some of these tracks. but then again i change my mind and realise this is in top 5 dnb albums of all times.
i that we waited for the dillinja album to drop. everybody knew he signed to London/wEA (whatever major fake label name) and was pushed to deliver asap as the management knew the wave is over. dillina delivered tunes that were different then his early stuff, it was really somehow more sinister and more sci-fi, but really agressive and funky at the same time. do not know how he did it. genius.

Revisited this pressing after many years, a great album for bedroom DJ's who waited two years for some of these cuts. The real downside on the five piece was FFRR cost cutting with the inners - five 12"s separated with two basic paper sleeves and a few sheets of A4 paper!!

Seems most copies of this were hammered to death. Plenty of copies for sale, but good luck finding a true NM/NM one.

          Most look to be G+

It took me way too long to sit down and digest this LP. I knew of this record almost 20 years ago and for some ungodly reason, only recently checked it out. Well... its, unsurprisingly, a total banger. Its a tough call but if i had to pick a favorite track, it would probably be "all aboard". "Go Dillinja" makes for rinsing outro track with a message, fitting. This album is basically planet Dillinja, the master of distortion... undeniable, unapologetic and in raw form. Gritty and darkside at the heart of it all, and his funny vocals and also nice female vox in half the tracks balance out the vibe. Its got a few tracks that arent for me, sure, but i think Its exceptional... you reach for this LP in your crate and you have here a timeless clutch of blasters at the ready, the hardest choice is which one to play at the moment.

One the best dnb albums from 2001!!! I love Dillinja Cybotron sound wish he could do a vol2 you know he's got enough unreleased tracks from that time to make another one to think this album is 19 years old now is madness a must buy.

Dillinja has always been one of the heads of drum'n'bass, and with CYBOTRON, he shows off his skills: hard beats, crisp production, massive sub-bass. But he has a jazzy side that he shows off with "Funky Flow," as well as a melodic side that appears on "Nasty Ways," even if the percussion stays of a kind with the other tracks. The twitchy "Never" adds a bit of nervous energy, while the steel pan tones of "All Aboard" sink beneath the percussion. Indeed, the percussion seems to be the great leveler of this album: flattening the other elements of the tracks. Bringing in female vocalists help reduce that by bringing a different energy, but it's not always enough, as they sometimes just act as an intro ("I Wanna Know") or a minor flavoring ("What's the Deal!," "Together"). He's definitely consistent, but consistency isn't always a good thing.

Fantastic album but 1 small issue, this album on cd just does not rip! I own two copies and have had issues with both and have tried on different computers to no avail. Can anyone confirm if they have had the same issues? I have heard that 'Warner' cd's tend to be protected in regards to copies being made.

Dillinja's production here is unbeatable - by what I mean the sound and the arrangement. This carries the music which is simplistic by design to maximum effect. Some say he uses the same sounds but he's got his formula and it wins. The only thing I can't get into is the vocals - in a club you're not going to complain but a tad cringeworthy otherwise.

A Darkside masterpiece of biblical proportions, the album which upon its much delayed and anticipated release truly changed the landscape of dark Drum n Bass forever. 'Cybotron' showed a new direction for dark dnb and showed that it was possible to make a heavy tack whilst still maintaining that crucial 'funk' element. Perhaps not the most varied LP, what 'Cybotron' lacks in bredth it more than compensates with a standard-setting consistency. Its hallowed tracklisting reads like a list of the best darkside tunes ever. From the grinding, metallic energy of 'Go Dillinja' to the twisted funk of 'All Aboard', 'Cybotron' never fails to impress as each of its 5 plates was worthy of a single release, not a compliment which can be honestly leveled at almost any other artists efforts. After the long wait 'Cybotron' could not have been a better indicator of where DnB was heading, or a better display of bass-master Dillinja's well established abilities as a producer.

Dillinja's long awaited first lp contains everything you want - if you like Dillinja style D'n'B. Deep sub basses, which he created especially for his own bass speakers he uses for his tour, and the typical in-yer-face attitude beats make it a straight-forward d'n'b album, finally sometthing else compared with everything that comes from the realms of Bad Company, Total Science et al.
